Shop detects German and English — DE | EN still overrides

Back

Quick reality check: The shop no longer waits for a click. On the first visit it reads the browser language: German → German, otherwise English. DE | EN stays top right if that guess is wrong. When you are logged in, the language in customer settings wins.

No new menu, no new URL scheme for the whole shop. Same NexoraHost shop — just not locked to one language.

How the language is chosen

  1. Account: Signed in, the shop uses the language from customer settings. Set it once, it stays.
  2. DE | EN: Top right, next to the cart. Guests keep that choice for the next visit. Logged-in customers write it to the account at the same time.
  3. Browser: No cookie and no login, the shop reads Accept-Language. German first → DE, otherwise EN.

Category and product URLs jump with it. /category/gameserver becomes /category/gameserver-1 in English.

What translates — and what does not

Menu, footer, buttons, titles, login, cart and the copy we maintain in both languages. Product names like Gameserver, V-Server and Root-Server stay as they are. Those are plan names, not a missed translation.

If a line is still in the wrong language: send the URL in a ticket. We will fix that page.

Why this is live now

Most people who host with us play and work in German. So does Google. A shop stuck on English, or one that asks every time, explains the plan worse. Detect, remember, override — without two separate shops.
