Update FiveM before 15 October: Kortz Heist and why old FXServer builds die

Back

Quick reality check: Since 20 August 2026, FXServer 35245 is the recommended FiveM build. It ships GTA Online: The Kortz Center Heist — and a cut-off that kills old dedicated servers on 15 October. If you do not swap the artifact, you get an empty player list. Not “maybe”. Cfx.re put a date on it.

From 35245 the client always runs the latest stable GTA V executable. Which title update you actually play is now only sv_enforceGameBuild. sv_replaceExeToSwitchBuilds is dead. That was an opt-in since 2024. It is the default now.

What actually changes

  • Artifact: 35245 or newer. Canary had it first, Recommended follows. Below that number, nobody joins after 15 October.
  • Kortz Center Heist: new GTA Online content. More interiors, more streaming, more tick load — especially on ESX with 100+ scripts.
  • Build handling: client = newest executable. DLC is loaded from what the server asks via sv_enforceGameBuild. Old “replace the EXE” setups are done.
  • Window: 20 August release, 15 October cut-off. Test in between. Do not improvise the night of the 14th.

Checklist before 15 October

  1. Back up resources and the database. Snapshot plus download. An artifact bump is not a hotfix you roll back in five minutes if Qbox or an MLO will not start.
  2. txAdmin: artifact to 35245+. Stop the server, pull Recommended (or Canary to test), start. Same generation on client and server.
  3. Check sv_enforceGameBuild. If it pins an older build your scripts need: test after the update, do not guess. The convar is start-only — you cannot change it while the server is running.
  4. Leave OneSync on. Without it, a lot of current builds and MLOs fall over. People who disabled it “for performance” notice when nobody joins.
  5. Scripts in order. Framework first (Qbox/ox_core before legacy ESX), then voice, then MLOs. Half new, half 2024 = crash loop.
  6. Ports stay 30120 TCP and UDP. Frankfurt, firewall, panel. No new port because of Kortz.
  7. RAM after the DLC. Small RP stays at 8–12 GB. Large ESX with interiors and heist content: closer to 16–32 GB. Qbox and ox_core are leaner than legacy ESX. Fast single-core beats many slow vCores.

What hardware after Kortz

Vanilla/freeroam stays light. RP with scripts, MLOs and EUP is different: more streaming, more entities, more MariaDB. NVMe is still mandatory — HDD stutters on interior load. Voice and 64+ players need upload, not “32 slots and hope”.

At NexoraHost, FiveM runs as a game server from Frankfurt, no slot limit. You set CPU and RAM in the panel. Linux is the quieter base; Windows only if a script actually needs it.
